Rockford Map Publishers has a long history of being active in the Soil & Water Conservation industry. We have helped many Conservation Districts raise funds for their conservation efforts through the sale of our County Plat Books. The fund raising aspect of the plat books is just an added benefit for the SWCD's; the main benefit is having access to accurate land ownership data and quality mapping features.

Most conservationists carry a County Plat Book with them while conducting their field work. They routinely need access to private land for their job function and the plat book provides them an easy tool to interact with land owners. The addition of aerial map pages has enhanced the usefulness of the plat books for conservationists.

The introduction of the County GeoPDF File has given the conservation industry another useful tool to use. The GeoPDF allows for any user to have access to our digital maps, land ownership data and aerial photography without having to have any high end mapping software. This is a great solution for field work. The GeoPDF would allow for field reports to be generated, notes to be embedded in specific parcels, digital photos to be attached to parcels as well as giving the user real time Latitude/Longitude coordinates, GPS tracking and acreage measurement tools all from their laptop.
