Our History Entrepreneur J.Q. Cummings founded Rockford Map in 1944 and began operations in the basement of his home. Mr. Cummings alone handled sales, customer service, research, cartography, accounting and deliveries. As the business grew, he added staff and thus the inventory of the hand-drawn property maps began to develop. Over the years, nearly 600 counties have been researched and compiled by RMP and all the data are copyrighted and registered in the Library of Congress.

As our customers became more technically savvy with their business needs, we adapted our production methods and began offering various digital formats of our property information. Today our customers can choose from a suite of formats including our traditional plat books, a file suitable for their Geographic Information System (GIS), or anything in between. In addition, RMP offers beautifully laminated wall maps and custom maps to fit your needs.
